One-by-one the Camden Conference runners came into the chute — and as they filed it, almost all of them were Canby/Minneota runners.
The Canby/Minneota Team competed at the Luverne Invitational on Thursday evening.
The Canby-Minneota boys are facing a whole different challenge than the girls. The have only a few experienced veterans with a mixture of younger runners.
“This group has big goals,” said Canby-Minneota Cross Country Coach Allyson Pesek about her 2019 girls cross country squad.
The humidity took its toll and so did the competition as the Canby-Minneota girls finished fourth and the boys fifth at Marshall’s large meet on Monday.
Canby-Minneota opened their cross country season last Tuesday at Lakeview and will continue Thursday afternoon at Tracy.
The Canby-Minneota Cross Country banquet was held Sunday night.
