The 11th Annual Indoor Christmas Tree Walk opened at the Lyon County Museum on Saturday, Nov. 18. The trees and museum will stay decorated through Dec. 30.
Santa Claus will again be escorted around town by the Minneota Fire Department at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 8.
Kevin Anundson's State Farm building on the corner of Main and Jefferson Streets in Minneota had a lighting system installed from Voorhees Trimlight of Cottonwood recently.
The first annual Santa's Workshop Craft & Vendor Show will be held on Saturday, Dec. 9 at the Legion and VFW buildings in Minneota.
The third annual "Christmas at the Opera Hall", sponsored by the Society for the Preservation of Minneota's Heritage, will be held on Saturday, Dec. 2 in the Opera Hall.
At least five large trees in Riverside Park and a few trees at residences in Minneota have been gnawed on recently by at least one beaver preparing for winter.
