4-H community project

Six kids from the Westerheim Flashing Stars 4-H Club, along with the help of five adults, made tie-blankets recently for cancer patients at Avera Cancer Center in Marshall. There were three blankets made by the club members. All cancer patients receive a blanket at Avera Cancer Center. This 4-H community project helps to maintain the supply.The kids put the blankets together on Sunday, April 10. April 17-23 is also National Volunteer Week, and the University of Minnesota Extension office recognizes the many contributions of Minnesota 4-H volunteers. The Westerheim Flashing Stars trained and approved volunteers are Ronni Vlaminck, Chuck Vlaminck, Jenny Buysse and Marla Moorse.
