FFA Trap Shoot team take second

The Minneota FFA Trap shooting team was recognized for placing second in the state at the State FFA Convention April 24-26 at the University of Minnesota campus. The Minnesota State FFA Convention was held April 24-26 at the University of Minnesota campus and the Minnesota State Fairgrounds. The Minneota FFA Chapter had three teams competing this year. The General Livestock Team consisted of Landon DeSmet, Lincoln Jerzak, Jackson Lacek, Lane Loyson, Mya Lozinski, Lucas Rybinski and Dylan Vlaminck. The General Livestock judging team of Lacek, Loyson, Lozinski and Rybinski placed 46th. Judging included three sets of market hogs, and two sets of beef cattle, goats and sheep. The Dairy Judging Team consisted of Adam DeVlaeminck, Brock Fier, Cael Fier, Zack Fier, Brooke Moorse and Joe Verschelde, with judging done by DeVlaeminck, Zack Fier, Moorse and Verschelde. They place 42nd at state. The Dairy Handling team consists of Cael Fier and Kade Lozinski, with Cael qualifying for his first state competition. Dairy Handling includes walking and presenting the dairy cow to the judging teams. Those FFA members that did not compete attended workshops that focused on leadership and community outreach, while also having the opportunity to meet FFA members from other schools and to look into post-high school opportunities.
