Golf Club holds summer event
As the Seals & Crofts song lyric goes: "Summer Breeze, makes me feel fine". That especially holds true if that breeze is coming from a golfer's backswing at Countryside Golf Club where the fourth annual Summer Fun Event will be held on July 13.
Tickets for the event are $50 each and includes 18 holes of golf for two people, free use of a cart, prize drawings, complimentary drinks and snacks during social hour from 5-6 p.m., free dinner, dancing, karaoke and music. Tickets can be purchased at Countryside Golf Club, or are available from course employees or board members.
"This is our biggest fundraiser of the year," said Countryside General Manager Tony Esping. "We hope to see a lot of people out here having a good time."
Numerous drawings will be held with the top prize being $1,000 in cash. Another cash prize of $500 will also be given away.
"If we sell 200 tickets to the event, we will be able to give out $3,000 in prizes," said Esping. "You don't have to be present to win." If an individual purchases a ticket but is unable to attend the event, they will be able to use the ticket for a free round of golf for two people at Countryside Golf Club at any time during the 2019 season.
The Summer Fun meal begins at 6 p.m., with a live DJ from Dakota Entertainment of South Dakota providing music and karaoke from 7 p.m. to midnight on the driving green.
Whether you want to have a relaxing day of golf, socialize with others, enjoy good food and a cool beverage, or listening to music, this is the place to be.
That's why this event is called "Summer Fun". And after all, isn't summer when laziness finds respectability.
