Minneota musicians, vocalists superior and excellent

The Minneota Music Department brought home several awards from Thursday’s Sub-Section 11 Solo-Ensemble Music Contest at Lakeview School. The event was held Thursday, April 4 in Cottonwood.

Minneota awards were: Getting a superior rating for the Jazz Band were: Thomas Belaen, Natalie Bot, Audra Buysse, Dylan DeSmet, Braxton Downing, Alyssa Engels, Rachel Engels,Reid Fir, Em Fischer, Molly Krog, Laney Myhre, Cecilia Rabaey, Abby Rost and Liz Voit. A superior was awarded to Emma Lipinski for her flute solo with excellents to Lipinski and Katie Walerius for a flute solo and excellent to Sebastiano Beraldo for a xylophone solo.

In the vocal department, the Mixed Vocal Ensemble rated a superior. Members of the ensemble are: Kim Bloch, Natalie Bot, Molly Krog, Cecilia Rabaey, Jacob Haen and Jackson Jeremiason.

The vocal duet of Rabaey and Katie Walerius was also rated a superior. Individual superiors for soprano solos were awarded to Lipinski, Rabaey and Jada Sterzinger.
