Winter endured, now it’s time to celebrate summer

After the winter we just endured, it’s time to celebrate summer. And City Hall Bar & Grill is doing just that by hosting its first annual Summer Bash from 3 p.m. until closing on Saturday, June 15.

The event will be filled with various activities, giveaways, food and beverage specials, and live music.

“I wanted to have something fun for people to do and to also have it outside,” said City Hall Bar & Grill manager Jordan Dressen.

“It was a long winter and now we can finally get outdoors.”

Broken Oak will perform at 5 p.m., followed by Kayla Daniels around 6:30 p.m. In between their performances, a gift card will be drawn and given away to someone who has dined at the establishment during the week prior to Summer Bash.

“Those eating here the week of Summer Bash (June 10-14) will receive a ticket to put in the drawing,” said Dressen. “But you have to be present to win the money. If the person isn’t here, we will keep drawing until someone wins.”

The Summer Bash will be held in the courtyard behind the City Hall Bar & Grill. A bean bag tournament scheduled for 3 p.m. will kick off the event; with the winner earning money.

Those wishing to participate in the bean bag tournament can pre-register at the bar, or sign up on the day of the event. There is no entry fee. Dressen will also be offering food specials, including the popular chicken strip and cheeseburger baskets, as well as pizza, appetizers, and authentic loaded Chicago Dogs.

A “tap takeover” by Brau Brothers of Marshall will feature samples of their varieties of beer. Outlaw Entertainment of Arlington, SD will be the DJ beginning at 9 p.m. with Karaoke also slated for the evening’s entertainment.

“We’ll see how this goes, but we’re hoping this will be an annual event,” said Dressen.

“We might even include a Winter Bash.”
