A 3-0 victory by Wabasso in the first round of the Norh Sub-Section Playoffs pits the Rabbits against the Minneota Vikings.

For Minneota, it will be the second straight game against the Rabbits. They beat them 3-0 last Thursday.

The game is set for 6 p.m. Friday, October 30 in Granite Falls.

The rest of the lineup looks like this:

No. 1 Canby will face Russell-Tyler-Ruthton, a 3-2 winner over Kerkhoven-Murdock Sunburg. The scores were 27-25; 23-25; 25-20; 15-25 and 15-8.

Tracy-Milroy-Balaton beat Dawson-Boyd 3-0 by scores of 25-19; 25-23 and 25-12 to advance to the second round against either MACCRAY or Ortonville.

Wabasso beat Central Minnesota Christian 25-21; 25-21 and 26-24 in a very close match to advance to the second round against No. 2 Minneota.

Renville County West also got into the second round with a 3-0 victory over Lincoln HI. They won, 25-14; 25-17 and 25-8.

IN THE latest Associated Press poll, Minneota s is still ranked second behind Bethlehem Academy with Canby tied for third with Windom. After them are Deer River, Bertha-Hewitt, Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa, Southwest Star Concept, Mabel-Canton and Lake of the Woods. Also getting votes as Murray County Central.
