When police viewed the video tape from FCA Cenex they saw a car they recognized.
A burglary of several thousand dollars of merchandise from the Minneota store was about to be solved.
Both Police Chief Eric Johnson and Officer Ben Standahl saw a car on the tape they’d seen before.
Later, three people were taken into custody and much of the merchandise was recovered — in large part thanks to the video tape.
“They’ve been booked into the jail,” said Chief Johnson. He indicated the names of the suspects will be released next week after they’ve been arraigned.
All three persons arrested, two males and a female, are adults and gave their residences as Minneota.
“We’re thankful Cenex has a good camera system,” said Chief Johnson.
“The minute we both saw the car we said, ‘I know who that is,’ and then we made the arrests,” said Chief Johnson.
According to the chief it appears the female, an employee of Cenex, left a door unlocked so the two males could enter and burglarize the store.
By 5 p.m. Monday, “We recovered a majority of the stolen property,” said Chief Johnson.
One of the alleged burglars apparently used work gloves, stocking hat over his face and even had his feet wrapped to avoid footprints. Both males have confessed to the burglaries,” said the chief.
And both have been in jail before for theft and burglary.

Arrests in football field burglaries
In an unrelated matter, Chief Johnson also reported arrests of three juveniles and an adult male for breakins at the  K. P. Kompelien Football Field and concession stand in Minneota.
One burglary occurred during Boxelder Bug Days and the other about six weeks ago.
“They have been involved in multiple burglaries,” said Chief Johnson.
Apparently the others were in Cottonwood, Tracy, Marshall and perhaps other areas.
They were caught in Marshall while  another burglary was in progress.
“We were able to get confessions to our burglaries,” Chief Johnson said
