Minneota  named a new Boxelder Bug Queen on Saturday night during Bug Days.

Katelyn Kack was awarded that honor. All three members of the royalty are Minneota High School students.

After the coronation the new royalty posed for a photo.

They are (left), second princess Cailin Rogge, first princess Kelly Timmerman and Queen Katelyn Kack.

 
First volley fired as Boxelder Bug Days opens

The first volley was founded for Boxelder Bug Days in Minneota when Dave Fahey was the only entrant in the Best Apple Contest at Brick's Garage.

His wooden apple was given THIRD place, not FIRST. "I don't see anywhere in the Commodities Rules where it says the apple has to be real," said a perturbed Fahey.
