The condition of second street, which runs past Finnegans and the Big Store building, The Mascot and Bank of the West is in poor shape, but it was forgotten when the current water-sewer, street, curb and gutter and sidewalk project was planned.

“Open enrollments are critical to our district,” he said. This larger projection will definitely be good for the district.
Said Deitte, “There are no less than 17 new students in our district — that means around $6,000 coming in for each student, which is very good.”

An emotional Relay for Life

Emotions ran high as the 17th annual Relay for Life, sponsored by the American Cancer Society, took place over the weekend.

“Whether you are the person fighting cancer or the caregiver of that person, you have to have a positive outlook on the whole situation. If you don’t the whole situation can consume you,” said Teri Hively, who spoke on behalf of her husband, Brad, who discovered he had cancer just a year ago.
