School board has four file |

Filing for the Minneota School Board were four persons to fill four positions. Incumbents Larry Buysse, Dawn VanKeulen and Doug Spanton have filed for positions, as has Earl Skaar. All four names will be placed on the November ballot for the four open positions.

Four persons filed for the office of Mayor of Minneota, with the deadline passing at 5 p.m. on Tuesday.
The four are former postmaster Wayne West, current city Councilman Lyall Gislason, Minneota businessman Bill Ufkin and former mayor and Senior Citizen Director Joanne Myrvik.

Council to offer city administrator job to Sarah Friesen |

After extensive open interviews of two candidates, the Minneota City Council Monday night decided to offer a contract to Sarah Friesen to become the new city administrator of Minneota.
Friesen, who lives in rural Mountain Lake, MN with her husband, (who is a farmer), is a former city administrator of Mountain Lake.
Friesen and Lyon County Assistant Administrator Aurora Heard were both interviewed by the full council Monday night.
