Ground broken on Taunton bank addition

The first shovel of dirt was turned on the addition to the State Bank of Taunton and with it began the dawning of a new era of banking in the small Lyon County community.

“We’ll have minimal disruptions in our banking business,” said President Jerry Wanken.

“When concrete is laid for the driveup we’ll be closed two weeks,” Wanken said. Otherwise the entrance to the new facility will change things — but not until December.
Sussner Construction of Marshall was awarded the bid on July 28 and was on the site Monday to start work on the bank’s addition.
