The Josephson and Prellwitz families have a strong connection as family friends. And this year, they have taken that link a step further into the beef business.
Adam and Isaac Josephson have been making their mark in the beef business for a few years now, with sister Erin also having a lot of success during her 4-H years.
The boys are now headed to the Minnesota State Fair, with Adam having the Champion breeding heifer, Champion market beef and was the Champion Senior beef showman. Isaac is the Champion beef intermediate showman, and had the Reserve Champion breeding heifer and Reserve Champion cow/calf pair.

Showing animals at the Fair has a lot of do’s and don’ts connected with it. Said Isaac, “It’s how you lead them, set them up and control the animal.” Brother Adam added, “The quality of the animal is judged, how clean the lines, and how they lead on the halter.

Amanda and Hanna Prellwitz have been 4-H members, having many exhibits over the years, but this was their first time with beef. Said Amanda, “We leased two beef from the Josephson’s as we didn’t have any on our farm. We’ve been working with them for several months and while it was work, it’s also been fun.”
