The question had to come up after Canby-Minneota-Lincoln HI lost to Adrian in girls’ cross country for the third time this year. This time they finished third b ehind Adrian (69) and Mountain Lake/Butterfield-Odin(75) with 92 points. The question? Can the team get back into the state tournament? “If the girls team can all come together and run their best races they have a chance at making a trip back to the state tournament, but it is going to take a solid group effort,” said Coach Beth Jessen. Her daughter Leah finished fourth, “Losing to a couple of girls she’d beaten earlier,” said Coach Jessen. As for the boys, they were buried in sixth place, 129 points behind champion Jackson Couty Central. Nick Stoks was the top CML placer in eighth, but the second best runner, Luke Jessen, fell off to 37th place. After Jessen were Levi Citrowske, Berckes and Wyatt Johansen.
