Accepting the award

On Thursday in Minneapolis, history was made for the City of Minneota. For the first time the local newspaper, The Mascot, has won a Minnesota State Newspaper Contest award. The photo (right) won a second place for the newspaper and for the photographer, Mascot Publisher Byron Higgin. He accepted the award from Jody Hanson, Minnesota Newspaper Association president.
