Volleyball at Marshall Tournament beginning at 9 a.m.
Queen coronation at 7:30, with street dance and fireworks to follow, bands include Jefferson Street and The Black Water Band
Sunday, September 12 Community worship service, entertainment on the stage, Boxelder Bug Days Parade, raffle drawings for great prizes and Xtreme Bull Riding at 3 p.m. near Minneota Building Materials
Monday, September 13 Cross Country team at Marshall at 4:30 p.m. in one of the closer races near home
Minneota/Taunton VFW meeting at 7 p.m.
Southwest Sportsmen Club meeting at 7 p.m.
Wednesday, September 15 Rotary Club meeting at the Madison Ave. Apt. at noon
Thursday, September 16 Volleyball team hosts Central Minnesota Christian
Friday, September 17 Football team travels to Cottonwood to take on Lakeview at 7 p.m.
Saturday, September 18 Volleyball at annual Jackson County Central tournament at 9 a.m.
SSU Family Day in Marshall starting at 11 a.m., with Mustang Stampede walk/Run, etc. including volleyball and football games.
Tuesday, September 21 UCare will hold information meetings about UCare for Seniors Medicare Advantage plan at 9:30 a.m., Marshall AmericInn (Whitney Room) in Marshall.
Friday, Saturday, October 1-2 Southwest Minnesota State University Homecoming will be held Oct. 1-2, with a host of events surrounding this year’s theme of “Vote Stanger”. Entertainment, a parade, Mustang athletics, the University Gala, alumni awards, Dueling Pianos, food and fun will be part of the weekend festivities. The Alumni Association will honor six individuals; Dr. Joann Frederickson, Class of ‘84, Bemidji State University associate professor; U.S.Navy personnel Cpt. Jim Norton, Class of ‘78; Cpt. Ken Norton, Class of ‘81, and Capt. Reed Eckstrom, Class of ‘79; and honorary lifetime membership awards will go to Brad and Joyce Strootman from Marshall Radio. This year’s Homecoming Parade will begin at 11 a.m. on Oct. 2, leaving from Independence Park to Main St., then north, concluding at 5th Street.
