|It was a struggle — but a win|

It wasn't pretty, but it was a win.
In the words of Coach Chad Johnston, after the 42-0 Minneota victory over Lakeview Friday night, "It's not many times you can score 42 points and yet we were not clickin'. We've been clickin' — but tonight we weren't."
"Defensive played phenominal tonight," her said, adding, "And you've got to give it to Cottonwood, they came out on a mission, they gambled and they taught us alot."
But, "We had poor execution offensively. We didn't recognize a lot of things — dropped balls, penalties, not reading things as well as we need too."
Lakeview, now 2-1, was, according to Coach Johnston, much improved from the team Minneota beat last year twice, by 70 points each time.
The Vikings led 7-0 after a quarter on a 14-yard run by Brandon Anderson.
By halftime they'd built the lead to 23-0 after a nine-yard run by Anderson and a 12-yard Beau Buysse pass to Walker Hennen.
Yet, everything was a struggle and in between touchdowns, were lots of errors. "They took some things away from us ... " the coach said, adding, "Penalties killed us."
Hennen scored his second touchdown on a 42-yard pass from Buysse in the third quarter to a 29-0 three-quarter lead.
The final two touchdowns came on a two-yard run by Adam Josephson and a five-yard run by Anderson for his third touchdown of the game.
Minneota is now 3-0 on the year and will host Canby Friday.
