|Vikings second at Jackson County Central tourney|
For the second year in a row, Minneota took second to host Jackson County Central in the weekend volleyball tournament in Jackson.
They lost in the finals to Jackson County Central, 25-20 and 25-18.
To get to the championship they beat Sleepy Eye St. Mary's 25-5 and 25-4 and bounced back with a nice 25-24 and 25-23 win over Mankato East.
The Vikings had an easy time with Windom Area, an arch rival, 25-15 and 25-18 in the match that put them in the championship.
In the finals against the host team, Ashlynn Muyhl had eight kills and three ace serves, Kelsey Hennen had 12 digs and Taya Kockelman 13 set assists.
Against St. Mary's, Katelyn Kack served 21 of 22 points and had an ace with Ashlynn Muhl added four kills and six blocks at the net.
In the other matches it was Muhl with 13 kills and four blocks and Kockelman with 25 set assists and 12-12 serving, leading the way past East, while Jenna Hennen's 12 of 12 serving with 10 digs and Muhl's 10 kills led Minneota over Windom.
Minneota is now 10-2 this season and Tuesday night plays at Ivanhoe against Lincoln HI.
