School called off; Volleyball too; football re-set for SMSU

Kids got out of school early, walked home

or got on the buskids  buses.

Minneota School Superintendent Dan Deitte was worried about getting kids home on time.

"I worry they won't get to their homes," he told The Mascot. So Supt. Deitte called off school in Minneota and sent all the kids home about 1 p.m. on Thursday.

"This isn't the time of year when you think you'll have to send kids home, but it happened," Deitte said.

All volleyball games for Thursday night were cancelled.

All practices (football, volleyball, cross country) were also cancelled.

FOOTBALL GAME MOVED TO SMSU: The Minneota/Canby football game for Friday, Sept. 24, will be held at the SMSU new football facility.
The gates will open at 5:30 p.m. and the game will begin at 6 p.m.

Season passes will NOT be honored.
