Water receding; Still much caution needed

Water Update ... Monday, September 27, 12:30  p.m.

There has been considerable receding of water on the Yellow Medicine River in Minneota. The bridge to K. P. Kompelien Field is now above water.

Riverside Park is no longer covered with water.

The sunny, warm days Saturday and Sunday did quite a bit of drying all over.

However, caution is still urged while driving because some roads are still closed and water is still covering many roads in The Minneota area.

Officials indicate a need to keep sump pumps going where needed.

Fortunately, the prediction is for sunny skys all week and pleasant temperatures in the mid to high 60's.

On the sewer, water and street project ....

Curb, gutter and sidewalks are going in at this time along Hwy. 68 in front of the businesses and post office.

Officials from Northdale Construction are hoping to asphalt Hwy. 68 by the end of the week — depending on the drying conditions.
