Frank (left) and Gene Nordquist (right) are long-time friends.
This week they’ll take a ride together that neither could have imagined when they were young men.
They’re considered as, “Men of the greatest generation of Americans,” and together they’ll fly to Washington, DC, as part of the Honor Flight Southwest Minnesota.
They’ll embark on an incredible journey to visit the memorial built to honor the men and women of their generation.

“This is an honor to go,” said Nordquist.
The two veterans will be part of a journey to discover the World War II Memorial, Vietnam War Memorial, KoreanWar Memorial and ceremonies at Arlington National Cemetery.
“I just feel it’s important to honor these people,” said  Mike Kuhle of Nobles County and part of the committee that’s organized the Honor Flights in this part of Minnesota.
Josephson and Nordquist will be honored at a banquet at 4 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 30. The next morning they’ll be wisked off to Washington, DC.
“Since May 2005, World War II veterans from around the country have been able to see the Memorial, thanks to the Honor Flights,” said Kuhle.
