Boxelder Bug Days are on; Plan B adopted


Paving of Jefferson Street was underway on Wednesday. Bug Day Officials say it will help to have Jefferson paved, even though Hwy. 68 won't be ready. Below, packing down the new road.

“Can you believe this?” questioned Boxelder Bug Days Chairperson Scott Josephson, after the heavy rains and slowed up work schedule for Northdale Construction.
“We thought everything was going to be set for Bug Days, but we are now scrambling,” added the harried festival organizer.

One of the highlights of the annual Boxelder Bug Days celebration is the Queen coronation.

This year there are five young ladies signed up for the competition, which will take place at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 11.

Those who are taking part are Angela Bot, Katelyn Kack, Cailin Rogge, Karli Meierding and Kelly Timmerman. katelyn kack
Angela Bot is the daughter of Eric and Phyllis Bot, and Custom Formula Feeangela botds is her sponsor. She works at the Minneota Manor Health Care Center and Boxelder Estates in Marshall, besides going to school.
Katelyn Kack is the daughter of Bruce and Carol Kack, and her sponsor is Kack Construction. She worked at the Minneota pool this summer and helped with Vacation Bible School and is on the volleyball team at MHS.
Cailin Rogge is the daughter of Lawrence Rogge and Coleen Pedersen, and her sponsor is Rogge Excavating, Inc. She enjoys working on the yearbook at the high school.
