Perfection vs. Perseverance
Many people struggle with anxiety and depression based upon a belief that they must be perfect in what they say, do, or how they look. While it is admirable to strive for success, perfection is an unreasonable expectation.
It is okay to make mistakes because that is how you learn what works and what doesn’t. It is okay to be wrong because that means you are challenging yourself. Your perception of yourself is more important than what others think of you. I have found from personal experience that I am happy when I accept myself for who I am; the good and the bad. I strive to improve by focusing on effort vs results.
Perseverance is the ability to accept what is while working toward what is better. You can be happy and successful without being perfect. Take one step at a time. Set small reasonable goals that build upon each other. Accept your mistakes as something which is temporary and correctable.
If you are like me then this may help you feel better about who you are and achieve the changes you want to see in your life.
