Missing boy found
asleep at neighbors
Lyle Hovland, the eight-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Hovland, caused quite a bit of excitement in Minneota early Wednesday morning when he disappeared from his bed and couldn't be found for several hours. During the time his parents, as well as other relatives and police officer John Bernardy were searching for him, Lyle was doing what all good little boys should be doing at two o'clock in the morning. He was found asleep on the davenport in a neighbor's home. Lyle had left his bed in his sleep, unhooked the screen door of his parents' home, walked across the street and entered the Sven Kvanbeck home, where he lay down on the davenport to continue his sleep. Lyle was discovered at 6 a.m. when Mrs. Kvanbeck awoke and found him.

Mascot to close for
week; staff to vacation
In order to give the staff a week's vacation, the Mascot will be closed from July 27 to Aug. 3 and two issues of the paper will be printed next week; the issue for Friday, July 25 and the issue for Friday, Aug. 1. The same arrangement was used last year when the staff took a week off. It will help the Mascot staff if news correspondents and advertisers bear this in mind when preparing material for the next two weeks.
