Superintendent's Report

The final day of the 2017-2018 school year is this Friday, May 18 (the seniors were done last Friday).

Graduation is set for 2 p.m. Saturday, May 19 in the competition gym, and the ceremony is open to the public.

I want to wish our graduating seniors the best as they begin a new chapter of their lives.

Building issue: Last August, we successfully passed a $5.25 million dollar bond referendum to renovate the building and add some much needed space in some of our classrooms.

We are excited to say that work has already begun, and it will ramp up fully on May 21.

The work will be split into two summers, since the scope of the project is so large.

Below you will find the specific projects that will be completed this summer and next.

Summer of 2018:

*Some asbestos removal in the elementary hallway and elementary classrooms

*Total replacement of both sets of elementary bathrooms and the bathrooms in the H.S. workroom/nurse’s room

*Expansion of the preschool/kindergarten classrooms into the courtyard

*Creation of a new preschool room (merging of the old elementary office and Karen Dalager’s room)

*Removal of asbestos from the FACS room and expansion of that room into the courtyard

*Removal of all asbestos from the upstairs H.S. classrooms and replacement of new flooring

*New doors, windows, and cabinets in many of the elementary classrooms

*New windows and doors in the upstairs H.S. classrooms

*Painting of the competition gym and new wall tile to replace the old

*New air handler installed in the elementary and also cooling installed for the ICU / Server room

*New elementary entrance

*Upgrade of all electrical throughout the main level of the K-12 building

*Upgrade of the elementary exterior Summer of 2019:

*Removal of all remaining asbestos throughout the building and new flooring installed

*Total reconstruction of the locker rooms and creation of a visitor’s locker room

*New acoustic ceiling and wall panels in the practice gym

*New construction of a vehicle garage/Storage area across from the elementary We are already making plans for the 2018-2019 school year, and we are excited for what lies ahead.

As a reminder, due to needing as much time as possible for the construction project, we will be starting school September 4.

I want to wish everybody a safe and enjoyable summer!
