Superintendent's Report

Building Update

As we near the end of summer, I would like to provide an update on the massive building project that’s occurred at Minneota Public Schools these past few months.

All of our construction companies have been working hard to renovate the school in preparation for the 2018-2019 school year.

They are doing a great job, and the results are exciting!

Many people are wondering if all the work will get done in time for school to begin on September 4.

There are still 3-4 weeks of work to be completed, but we are very optimistic.

Every Thursday we hold a construction meeting to get an update on the progress of the project.

I am happy to report, as of August 5, everything is on track for the first scheduled day of school to begin on September 4.

There may be small projects being completed after school starts, but we don’t expect any of these to impact our students during the school day.

Furthermore, the competition gym is now complete; it will be ready for our first volleyball match against Wabasso on August 28.

Finally, to allow teachers and staff time to properly prepare and settle back into their classrooms, we will be delaying the open house we typically hold before school starts.

Instead, we plan to have a community-wide gathering in September to allow everyone to have a chance to see all the amazing upgrades that have been completed.

As soon as there is a firm date, it will be announced through Facebook, e-mail, the newspaper, and on our website.

These are exciting times at Minneota Public Schools!

As always, I want to thank you for your unwavering support of our students and staff.

Sincerely,

Dan Deitte, Superintendent of Schools

Sup. Dan Deitte
