The first day of school is Tuesday, Aug. 24, and we are excited to welcome back our staff and students.
Once again, our summer staff did a great job preparing the building and setting the stage for the new school year. On Wednesday, Aug. 18 we had our annual K-12 open house, so students have the opportunity to find their lockers, meet their teachers, and see their classrooms.
After a stressful 2020-2021 year due to COVID-19, we are hopeful 2021-2022 will be smoother. With that said, we are cognizant that COVID is still here, and we will continue to take appropriate precautions to preserve the health and safety of our students and staff.
This year we hired several new staff members to replace outgoing staff. There is a severe teacher shortage in Minnesota (and the country); despite this we were able to find new staff for every open position. I believe this is a testament to our district to be able to attract staff members in this highly competitive market.
As always, I want to thank our students, staff, parents, and community for the continued support of the district. With this support we are able to provide our students with the very best education possible.
