December High School Viking Valor

Seventh Grade: Maxwell Rost is not only a hard worker and excellent student; he is also caring, kind, and fun-loving. At a young age, Maxwell has figured out how to stay positive no matter what kind of day it is. He is also a student who works well with others both in cooperative learning groups and in sports. Maxwell is a standout student mostly because of his dedication and kindness. He truly deserves this award.

Eighth Grade: Sophia Fischer. Sophia is a very passionate person; she shows this passion through her work. She works hard in everything she does, and she helps others when needed. Her work is always above and beyond the requirements. She is kind to all and is a great student. Thank you, Sophia, for working hard and making Minneota a better place! Congratulations!

Ninth Grade: Jhessy Ochoa. Jhessy has been very welcoming to one of our new students in the district. She has advocated for this new student by explaining to teachers when the new student is need of help and has gone out of her way to help show the new student around. Thank you, Jhessy, for your willingness to step up and help make Minneota High School a friendly place for people to move to!

Tenth Grade: Allison Johnson. Allison has been one of the most hard working students I have encountered. She has a depth of knowledge that she is willing to share, and her opinion is always very thoughtful and understanding. Allison is willing to stand up for what is right, even if it is not a popular belief among her peers. She is an upstanding student who deserves to be recognized. Thank you, Allison, for working hard and bringing depth into the classroom. Congratulations!

Junior: Anna Gruenes. Anna is an exceptionally hard worker in the classroom. She strives for excellence in all of her work and often surpasses the teacher’s expectations. She pushes herself to learn more than is required and challenges her classmates’ thinking to encourage them to also expand their learning. Thank you Anna for pushing yourself and others to raise the bar in the classroom! Your advanced thinking and unique perspectives are very much appreciated!

Senior: Brooklyn Nelson. Brooklyn has shown great leadership at school this year. She has taken charge on several student council events, presenting unique ideas, dedicating time to planning, and helping facilitate the events. She has also shown leadership in the classroom. She recently helped lead a small group to create a video displaying Minneota students’ academic and athletic success. Congratulations, Brooklyn! And keep working hard through the rest of your senior year!
