First ‘Walk for Memories’ slated

Come walk with your family and friends to honor and remember families affected by dementia and celebrate dementia champions.

The Marshall Area Dementia Awareness Network will be hosting the first annual “Walk for Memories” on Thursday, June 21 from 4 p.m.-7 p.m. at Independence Park in Marshall.

This event is to honor and remember families and friends that have been affected by dementia and celebrate our dementia champions in Marshall.

There will be informational booths during the walk to see what services are available in Marshall.

There will also be a Marshall Radio Coke event from 4 p.m.-6 p.m. during the walk.

The Marshall Noon Rotary will have food avaiable during the walk.

Other events include a reading of the children’s book “Grandpa and Lucy,” at 6 p.m.

The book is intended to help children learn about dementia.
