Services for children and young adults with autism focus of community meeting in St. Cloud

Parents, caregivers, providers invited to Sept. 4 meeting

The Minnesota Department of Human Services will host the next in a series of public meetings about services available through Medical Assistance and MinnesotaCare for children and young adults (up to age 21) with autism spectrum disorder and related conditions on Wednesday, Sept. 4, in St. Cloud.

The meeting —for parents, caregivers, providers and other stakeholders — will take place from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the Bremer Room of the St. Cloud Public Library, 1300 E. St. Germain St.

Topics to be covered by DHS staff will include: General autism information Services under the Early Intensive Developmental and Behavioral Intervention (EIDBI) benefit Accessing health care coverage.

Those attending will have plenty of time for questions. Anyone who needs a reasonable accommodation or language assistance to participate in these meetings should email asd.dhs@state.mn.us as soon as possible and list the type of accommodation needed.
