Suspect taken into custody following attempted break-in of storage sheds

An unidentified male was taken into custody on Wednesday, June 17 after trying to break into the storage shed units in Ghent.
At approximately 6:54 a.m., a report was made to the Lyon County Law Enforcement Center that a male individual was breaking into the storage shed units located in the 200 block of North Collins St. in Ghent.
The male suspect was confronted by a witness to the break-in and was briefly detained. The male suspect was able to escape and fled the scene on foot prior to the arrival of deputies.
Deputies canvassed the area for the suspect and at approximately 9:26 a.m., were able to locate the suspect on foot in city limits.
The suspect, identified as a 29-year-old adult white male, was taken into custody after a short foot pursuit.
No injuries were reported as a result of the pursuit and subsequent arrest.
It is believed that the 29-year-old male suspect was alone during this incident and that no other individuals are being sought in this matter.
The male will be identified when formal charges are filed.
The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the Ghent citizens that were involved for their prompt reporting of the suspicious activity and their assistance in assuring that the suspect was identified and quickly apprehended.
