United Way helps crisis center
New Horizons Crisis Center (NHCC) has announce they have again received a generous Community Impact Grant award of $35,000 from United Way of Southwest Minnesota. These funds will support NHCC’s Crime Victim Services Program to provide advocacy, support, and vital safety services to crime victims in Lincoln, Lyon, and Murray and portions of Redwood Counties. NHCC’s Crime Victim Services Program provides advocacy and support to sexual assault and general crime victims in Lincoln, Lyon, Murray, and Redwood Counties.
“Our Crime Victim Services Staff are here to help sexual assault and general crime victims through every stage of their victimization process,” said officials.
“We pride ourselves in providing consistent and effective, victim-centered services. Our crime victim advocacy services include, but are not limited to the following: 24-hour crisis response line; supportive listening and one to one support; crisis counseling and intervention; safety planning; support groups; information and referral for community services and programs; assistance with victim rights; financial assistance; medical advocacy; and civil and criminal justice advocacy, assistance, and accompaniment.”
