Enter the Boxelder Bug ‘Design the Log’ contest

It’s never too early to think about the bug. Sponsored by Gislason’s Ace Hardware/The Arched Door, Prairie Winds Wellness, and the Boxelder Bug Days Committee, the annual design-the-logo contest for Boxelder Bug Days contest will earn the winner $300.

Last year’s winner of the Bug Days logo design was Danielle Ryer. The winning design will be displayed on the front of the 2019 Boxelder Bug Days T-shirts, as well as all advertising for the community event that runs from Sept. 6-8.

The 2019 logo design can be drawn, painted or computerized. One requirement of the logo design is that it should feature nine boxelder bugs somewhere within the design.

“The amount of bugs on the T-shirts corresponds with the year; 2018 was eight bugs and 2019 will be nine bugs, and so on,” said Dave Fahey of Gislason’s Hardware.

“The ‘artist’ can use any format they choose in the designing process.”

“Some designs come in hand-drawn and others are computerized.

The size of the paper won’t be an issue; most (entries) come in on printing paper.”

Logo design entries should be submitted to Gislason’s Ace Hardware/The Arched Door or Prairie Winds Wellness before noon on Friday, April 26.

The winning entry will be contacted and announced after May 10.
