Fier improves slightly

Family members of Ann Fier Tuesday said the Taunton woman injured in a tractor accident 12 days ago is “slightly better.” Fier, 81, suffered extensive injuries, broken bones, punctured lung and other injuries when she was run over by a tractor as she worked at Rye Nursery between Taunton and Porter.

“They (the family) are meeting with specialists to determine what to expect (from her condition),” said her son-in-law Steve Hennen.

“It’s still a super long road ahead,” Hennen said about Fier’s recovery.

She is currently in the hospital in Sioux Falls and there appears to be little change in her potential recovery.

Ann Fier, an active senior citizen, has two granddaughters, Abby and Morgan Hennen, on the Minneota volleyball and Fier was a faithful follower of the team.

She also is an avid Minnesota Lynx fan.
