An unidentified man, 44, was killed Wednesday afternoon after being pinned by equipment two miles northeast of Minneota.

The accident occurred at approximately 2:30 p.m.

Fire and Public Safety Services were dispatched to the 3600 block of 180th Ave for a report involving a male that had become trapped and pinned by equipment at this location.

Upon arrival of first responders to the scene, a male was found to have sustained severe traumatic injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

It was reported that the male was operating heavy construction equipment at this location for a construction project and the equipment overturned upon the male. The matter remains under investigation.

The name of the deceased to be withheld pending notifications of family. Responding to and assisting at the scene was the Minneota Fire Department, Minneota First Responders and North Memorial Ambulance.
