Minneota house fire contained to attic

The Minneota Fire Department responded to a call of smoke in an attic portion of a home on the 300 block of North Washington Street at 8:45 p.m. on Sunday.
All six department trucks from Minneota were deployed, along with the First Responders.
Smoke was seen in the roof area of the home when firemen arrived on the scene. The fire was contained to the attic.
"We went into the attic and took a ceiling down in one room," said Assistant Fire Chief Brad Minnehan. "There was some smoldering. We used very little water, so there wasn't a lot of damage."
The fire was contained to the attic and there was minimal damage other than the ceiling being taken down and some minor smoke damage. The rest of the home was not damaged and no one was injured.
The firemen left the scene around midnight.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
