Near tragedy in the arena

The Lyon County Fair opened Thursday with the Barnes Rodeo as the headline event.

There was nearly a tragedy when the horse riden by Logan Hullinger of Davis City, IA suddenly tripped and went down.

Hullinger was able to escape without injury although it appeared at first as though he was going to get trampled as the frightening horse got up and began to buck wildly.

Thursday night was the first performance of the 21st Annual Lyon County Fair Rodeo. A second performance will be held Friday night at the Fairgrounds.
