No mystery after man found in field

Dan Van Keulen was a soft-spoken man who farmed his entire life. He and wife Terry raised their family on the land.
And Monday, Daniel VanKeulen, 80, passed away and was found in a field in Westerheim Township about 12:14 p.m. on Monday.
The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office reported an, “unresponsive male” was found east of Minneota.
Minneota responders and the Marshall North Ambulance service were on the scene.
“No foul play was suspected," said the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office.
Van Keulen was pronounced dead at the scene. The sheriff placed tape along 170th Street while they investigated at the scene.
Van Keulen, who had a series of heart problems, apparently was in the field working on a water problem when he passed away.
