Duane was born on August 26th, 1957 in Marshall MN to Donald and Janyce Sanow. Duane married the love of his life and soul mate on May 20th, 1995 and made a home with her in Montevideo and Nicaragua. The rest is history. He had many close friends and business associates who loved and appreciated his kind, spontaneous, intelligent, and adventurous spirit.

His family and friends describe him as the following:

Amazing, World Traveler, Businessman, Hardworker, Family Man, Fun, Deep, Funny, Generous, Loving Father, Advisor, BAMF, Remarkable, BEST Grandpa. Just a few, amongst so many other notable descriptions that he was known for.

Duane loved to travel and had a zest for life that he continuously instilled upon his family and friends. He always found a way to make the smallest of moments the most special. After his terminal diagnosis to no one’s surprise, he continued to take trips, traveling to Florida, Nicaragua (twice), South Dakota, drove the Pacific Coast Highway, saw the Wisconsin fall colors with his granddaughters, and went four wheeling in Utah.

If you ever asked him, “how are you doing?”, his reply every time was “Living the dream!”

Strong until the very last moment and very well loved. This is his legacy. He will be missed, but never forgotten.

He leaves behind his wife, Jan Sanow; children: Holly (Schuyler) Pulford, Michelle (Terry) Schuldt, Jacob (Amber) Sanow, Mackenzie (Josh) Snortum; grandchildren: Kellen DeCock, Mariah Samuelson, Justine and Danica Buseman, QC Schuldt, Piper Sanow, Reece Adams, Syler and Calloway Snortum; his parents: Donald and Janyce Sanow; sisters:Cynthia (Carrie) Dorrance, and Brenda Sanow; sister-in-law, Linda (Jim) Wagemaker; nieces and nephews- Adam Dorrance, Brett (Jillian) Dorrance, Preston (Alise) Sanow, Tiffany Van Nostrand; and great nieces and nephews: Indie Dorrance, Graham and Jordyn Sanow.
