LEONA SPECK

Leona Marie Speck, 88, of Miller, SD, passed away Thursday, March 7, 2024, at Good Samaritan Society in Miller.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at Reck Funeral Home in Miller. Burial took place at St. Placidus Cemetery in Duncan, SD.
Leona Marie Mular was born in rural Minnesota to Stanley and Maggie (Kopitski) Mular. She attended school in Taunton, MN and college at Mankato, MN.
She arrived in South Dakota in 1954 to teach school. She married Robert W. Speck on Aug. 23, 1955. To this union, four children were born, Patricia, Robert A., Susan, and Gary. She taught school for 34 years until her retirement.
She is survived by her son, Robert A. Speck; daughters: Patricia (Robert) Moriarty and Susan Speck; granddaughters: Jennifer and Sarah (Darin Domeyer); and great grandchildren: Haley, Dylan, Griffen, and James.
She was preceded in death by her husband; 10-week-old son, Gary; parents; sister, Lucille; and many brothers and sisters-in-law.
Reck Funeral Home of Miller was entrusted with Leona's arrangements.
