Two ex-Vikings at Crookston

Two former Minneota Vikings are playing college sports at the University of Minnesota Crookston. They are baseball player junior Henry Pesch and junior golfer Allison Bot. Pesch came to Crookston after junior college and Bot transferred from University of Minnesota, Morris.

The University of Minnesota Crookston women’s golf team opened up their spring season March 8-9 at the Minot Junior Golf Association Collegiate Invitation in North Las Vegas, Nev. and on March 12-13 at the Winona State University Women’s Invitational in Las Vegas.

Crookston placed eighth at the fifth annual Minot Junior meet. Minnesota Crookston was paced by Anna Olson (So., Fertile), who shot an opening-round 105, and responded with a 13-stroke improvement with a second round of 92.

Olson finished in 32nd-place. Bot shot rounds of 103 and 107.

Pesch and the Minnesota Crookston baseball team opened up their eight-game excursion to Florida March 3. As of Monday, they were 7-7 on the year.

Pesch got his first win as a Golden Eagle against Dakota Wesleyan.

He allowed two runs on two hits in two innings on with one strikeout. So far, Pesch has pitched in six games for 7.1 innings.

He’s allowed 10 hits, eight earned runs, walked three and struck out three.

Henry Pesch is also a member of the Minneota Mudhens and is expected to play in Minneota this summer.
