DePestel 2nd in Camden Championships

Bowyer earns four straight all-conference; Myhre also gains all-conference

Alex DePestel shot a 78 to tie for second place in the boys' Camden Conference championships Monday on a sun-splashed day at Marshall County Club.
Lauren Bowyer, Minneota's lone member on the girls' team, shot an 88 and finished fourth overall to earn her fourth straight all-conference status.
Lakeview won the boys' team title with a 319, 24 strokes ahead of runner-up Minneota. Carson Boe of Lakeview was medalist with a 69. DePestel and Ryan Schrupp of Renville County West tied for second with 78's.
Lindsey Lund of Dawson-Boyd was the medalist for the girls. Sarah Halvorson of Lac qui Parle Valley was just a stroke back in second with an 84. Alyssa Swedzinski of Dawson-Boyd placed third with an 87.
Minneota's DePestel, Anthony Rybinski (14th) and Cole Myhre (17th) earned all-conference.

Camden Conference Meet
(Results Friday, May 13)
While Minneota senior Lauren Bowyer extended her medalist string to five straight, the Minneota boys finished second to Lakeview ion the Camden Conference meet Friday in Granite Falls.
Bowyer, who tied for medalist honors in the first conference meet but lost on a tiebreaker, has shot 41 in four of her last five wins, including this one. She had a 43 in the other.
Minneota's Anthony Rybinski had a career-best 40 to tie for second in the boys' meet with Ethan Schwankl of Lakeview. Carson Boe of Lakeview took medalist honors with a 37.
Jackson Esping shot a 44 for the Vikings, while Cole Myhre had a 46 and Alex DePestel a 48.

The Minneota boys finished fourth out of 12 teams at its home meet at Countryside Golf Club.
Cole Myhre finished in a five-way tie for third place with a 79. Carson Boe of Lakeview was medalist with 72, six strokes ahead of runnerup Brady Schwindemann of Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa.
Lakeview was the boys' team champion with 321, 10 strokes ahead of BBE, who had 331. Dawson-Boyd finished with 344 and Minneota 349.
Alex DePestel shot 89 for the Vikings, while Jackson Esping shot 90 and Anthony Rybinski and Max Rost each had 91.
Lauren Bowyer of Minneota tied for second with Alyssa Swedzinski of Dawson-Boyd in the girls' meet with 92. Lindsey Lund of Dawson-Boys was medalist with a 90.
MACCRAY was the girls' team winner.
