Dovre working toward gold

Minneota eighth-grader Autumn Dovre completed another test in the United States Figure Skating Associations test structure toward obtaining the coveted Senior/Gold level of figure skating. Dovre passed the Preliminary Moves in the Field test with flying colors and a graceful performance in the Twin Cities.

Moves in the Field tests the skater’s ability in skating skills.

They help athletes to learn skating skills and turns that are necessary to be successful in any discipline of figure skating, focusing on accuracy, posture and carriage, bilateral movement, strength, power, extension, edge quality, continuous flow, quickness and turn execution.

There are eight levels until a skater reaches the Senior/Gold status, and Dovre passed the second level.

Dovre is a member of the Southwest Figure Skating Club in Marshall. She is the daughter of Dave and Paula Dovre.
