Golf Academy set for Minneota

The Viking Golf Academy 2017 at the Minneota Golf Course has been set for June 19-23 and June 26-29. Instructors include Nicole Evers, Brooklynn Downing and Minneota Golf Coach Greg Gile.

There are two sessions: •Grades 2-4 from 9 to 10 a.m. •Grades 5-7 or older from 10-11:30 a.m. “The goal is to identify and prepare students for future varsity competition,” said Coach Gile.

Individual summer lessons (free), will be provided for those interested in expanding their skills into varsity competition.

Items to be covered include: Golf rules, golf etiquette, the proper golf grip, chipping skills, putting fundamentals and golf swing development.

There will be awards including the top five individuals in each grade level getting awards in the following events: Golf rules contest; putting contest; chipping contest; most improved and team best ball tournament.
