Minneota opens playoffs Saturday

The Minneota baseball team was seeded No.5 in Section 3A-South tournament and will take on No 4 Tracy-Milroy-Balaton at 1 p.m. in Ruthton.

Top-seeded Russell-Tyler-Ruthton will play No. 8 Edgerton at 11 a.m. in Ruthton. The winners of those two games will meet at 3:30 p.m. in Ruthton.

Murray Country Central is the No. 2 seed and meets No. 7 Wabasso at 11 a.m. Saturday in Slayton. No. 3 Adrian faces No. 6 Red Rock Central/Westbrook-Walnut Grove at 1 p.m. in Slayton. Those winners meet at 3:30 p.m.

The elimination bracket and the winner's bracket of the double-elimination tournament begins on Tuesday, May 31.

In the 3A-North half, MACCRAY received the top seed, with Lac qui Parle Valley getting the No. 2 seed. That half of the tournament also begins on Saturday.
