Minneota wins with a rout of YME

It took until April 23, but the Minneota baseball team finally were able to play another game. It was worth the wait.

The Vikings rapped out 10 hits to back the combined one-hit pitching of Teddy Pesch and Landon Rolbiecki en route to an 11-2 victory over Yellow Medicine East.

The game looked in jeopardy of being played the day before with the road running through Riverside Park leading to K.P. Kompelien Field completely under water.

But the water went down overnight and allowed the game to be played.

Pesch worked the first four innings for the win, allowing one hit. He walked four and struck out four. Landon Rolbiecki pitched the final three hitless innings for the save.

He walked two and fanned four. Austin Sorensen knocked in the game's first run with a run-scoring single in the second inning.

Rolbiecki drove in a run with a single in the third for a 2-0 lead. Minneota then plated six runs in the fourth inning as Tate Walerius hit a two-run single and Jaymes Moon had a run-scoring single. Three other runs scored on errors. Moon also had a run-scoring single in the sixth inning.
