Mudhens top Castlewood with 17-hit attack, 17-10

Austin Buysse and Danny Hennen drove in four runs apiece as the Minneota Mudhens outslugged the Castlewood Monarchs 17-10 in a non-league game on Thursday night in Castlewood, SD.
Six Mudhens had multiple hits, including Austin Buysse, who was 4-for-7 with a double. Alex Pohlen and Tate Walerius had three hits apiece. Ben Skorczewski, Danny Hennen and Brock Buysse each had two hits.
Danny Hennen started on the mound for the Mudhens (4-1) and tossed three scoreless innings, allowing just one hit. He walked none and struck out two.
Jacob Hennen relieved and was credited with the win. He hurled three innings and allowed five runs, while walking one and striking out four. AJ Myhre pitched the last three innings and was also touched for five runs. He walked two and fanned three.
The Mudhens scored five runs in the seventh and nine innings to blow the game open. Besides the 17 hits Minneota amassed, it also utilized 11 walks and four hit batsmen.
The Mudhens next play at Pipestone on Friday, June 3.
