An improved Tyler Myhre led the Vikings at Tracy.

Myhre gives big lift to boy golfers

Hand warmers, mittens, stocking caps were handed out as needed at the Camden Conference meet at Tracy on Thursday.

"Weather conditions were difficult for everyone with the cold and wind.

"But the Minneota boys were 12 strokes better than their last meet at Lakeview, from a 189 to a 177."

He added, "Tyler Myhre is much improved and five of our six team members scored better than they did at Lakeview," said the coach.

Lakeview won the boys event with a score of 173.  Minneota placed second with a score of 177. Others were: Canby 209; RTR 222; Hendricks 230 and Lakeview, TMB incomplete.
Tyler Myhre placed second with a 41 and Nolan Boerboom third with a 43 in tourney standings. 

Trent Esping, who shot a 46 was was third in team standings while Mitchell Rost and Tristan Sorensen tied for the fourth team score with a 47 each.

"The boys score is a significant improvement," with their past meet said Coach Greg Gile.

Girls scores were: Minneota 192, Canby 209, RTR 222, Hendricks 230, Lakeview Inc and RTR inc. 

"Heidi once again was the tournament medalist. She has a terrific practice routine," said the coach.

"Everyone really worked hard," said the coach. "The Tracy meet gives our players a decent warmup for Marshall. We're getting close," he said about the girls performance.

Heidi Guttormsson was the tournament medalist. 

Brooklynn Downing tied for fourth and Carolyn Hoffman 5th.
