(Scott Underwood Invite Monday, April 4 at SDSU, Brookings)

Canby/Minneota's Braelyn Merritt finished first among 55 competitors in the 300 hurdles at the Scott Underwood Invitational last Monday at SDSU in Brookings.
The Canby/Minneota girls finished 11th out of 20 teams, while the C/M boys were 11th out of 22 teams. The majority of the teams were from South Dakota. Perennial power Sioux Falls Christian won both the girls and boys meets by a wide margin.
Finishing in the top 12 for the C/M boys were: (4) Tristan Bierschenk, 300 hurdles, 45.65; (7) Bierschenk, 100 hurdles, 187.43; (4) Blake Giese, 3200 run, 10:41.52; (5) 4 x800 relay - Kolton Duis, Zach Ourada, Blake Giese, Blake Stoks, 8:50.01; (11) Stoks, high jump, 5-4; (12) Giese, pole vault, 8-0; (12) Stoks, 1600 run. 4:57.69.
Finishing in the top 12 for the C/M girls were: (1) Braelyn Merritt, 300 hurdles, 49.08; (5) Aidyn Bruns, high jump, 4-10; (6) Merritt, 100 hurdles, 17.62; (6) 4 x 400 relay - RyAnn Hansen, Claire Stoks, Merritt, Grace Drietz, 4:29.60 (8) Hannah Vlaminck, 3200 runs, 13:39.11; (9) Hansen, 200 dash, 28.55; (11) Stoks, 1600 run, 5:57.01.
